Goddess Kamalamba, also known as Kamalambika, is a divine manifestation of Goddess Parvati, enshrined at the Thyagaraja Temple in Tiruvarur, Tamil Nadu. Revered as the queen of the lotus (Kamal = lotus), Kamalamba represents ultimate wisdom, stillness, and spiritual enlightenment. She is the presiding goddess of the Kamalamba Navavarna Krithis, composed by Muthuswami Dikshitar, one of the trinity of Carnatic music
Seated in deep yogic meditation (Dhyana posture), Kamalamba is portrayed as silent, inward, and fully immersed in divine consciousness. Unlike other forms of Devi who engage with devotees, Kamalamba is inward-looking, symbolizing the inner journey toward self-realization. She resides in the innermost sanctum of the Sri Chakra, making her worship highly significant in Sri Vidya tradition.
